I like the visual I get from this line (add it to the list of things to talk about, ha): "We all are blind to the future. We face backwards as our lives pile up in the past and the future rushes by us."
It is like we stand on a bleeding-edge boundary of "now" looking into the fog of tomorrow (Monk by the Sea?), with a massive highway pileup of experiences behind us waiting to be inspected and integrated.
That's good! I will have to use that reference in my Depths post on this notion. You are already intuiting Walter Benjamin's "Theses on the Philosophy of History."
I'll have to check that out. Same time period as some other philosophy related. Also made me think of this line from The Overstory: "Life has a way of talking to the future: It's called memory."
I’m super excited to see where this goes! I’ve followed your YouTube for years and have always looked forward to seeing you talk more about actual art that you respect.
Thanks for adding me
Of course my friend!
Can you briefly discuss Klee’s Angel of History... I don't recall ever seeing that one before.
Yes! But that will be the subject of a Depths post.

Excellent! I am glad to have you along for the ride.
Kinda sounds like a conversation I've been longing to have for years!
I am intrigued? Are you willing to expand? Or DM me more?
